The Brookline Recreation department is seeking qualified, energetic, and compassionate candidates for the 2024 summer camp season. Previous experience with camp programming or previous counselor experience is preferred. Hourly rates are based on camp position. The Summer Camp program will run from July 1, 2024 to August 16, 2024 at three elementary schools in Brookline, Ma.

Staff are required to attend 3 days of mandatory training during the week of June 26 – June 28 with specific schedules to be determined. Below is a brief description of the open positions. All candidates will go through a background check through the Criminal and Sexual offender database as required by the Town of Brookline health department.

CAMP DIRECTOR

• Schedule: July 1, 2024 to August 16, 2024; M-F: 8:00am to 3:30pm.
• Pay Rate: $22 per hour
• Requirements: Must be minimum 21 years’ old.
• General Responsibilities: To ensure for a quality summer camp program and is responsible for the day-to-day operation and implementation of the camp program. Additional responsibilities include, curriculum creation and implementation, helping to coordinate and execute the counselor orientation, and pre-season administration work including Camp Doc setup. The Director is also responsible for the health & safety of all participants while working as the designated Health Care Supervisor.
