Lead Teachers - consider joining our team! The Brookline Recreation Department After School Program (ASP) is for Brookline Public School students who are in grades K-4. This program offers a safe and supportive alternative between school and home for children. Activities include outdoor play, ice skating, golf, open gym, cooking, arts & crafts, homework, seasonal activities and field trips. ASP is a collaborative working environment for staff and families. Seeking a Lead Teacher to create a safe and enjoyable experience for all students. Demonstrating creativity and the ability to motivate, guide and instruct children in activities An eligible candidate must be at least 18 years of age and meet one of the following sets of requirements set forth by the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC); Have a Bachelor’s Degree or an Associate’s Degree; AND have three months of experience working with school age children; or Have a high school diploma or equivalent; AND have six months of experience working with school age children including three months of supervised experience at a school age child care program; or Have nine months of experience with school age children including three months of supervised experience at a school age child care program. After School Program hours for the Fall 2017 to Spring 2018 School Year are from 2:15PM – 6:00PM, Monday through Thursday and Fridays 1:30:PM – 6:00PM; Must be available to work up to 18.75 hours and available to work from 12-6pm up to 10 times during the school year. Responsibilities: Creating and maintaining the monthly and daily activities calendar for the program. Supervising the group of children during all activities, communicating with the Site Director, classroom staff and parents. Participating in staff meetings and training. Follow, abide by and enforce all Center and EEC policies, procedures and regulations. Outdoor play during all seasons. Starting salary $16-$20 per hour depending on qualifications.
