Brookline DPW’s Water & Sewer Division seeks a Water Use Analyst to monitor, analyze, and manage the Town’s public and private water consumption systems, including metering infrastructure, usage reporting platforms, municipal irrigation systems, and related water-use assets. This supervisory, data-driven role ensures accurate consumption tracking, timely identification of leaks, efficient operation of municipal water systems, and consistent application of water-conservation standards. Focusing on efficient and sustainable public water use, this position oversees key technologies that support the Town’s water-management objectives, coordinates staff and contractors, and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as well as Town policies.

Qualifications
Associate’s degree in business management or a related field and five to ten years of experience in public works or similar environments, with experience in data analysis, water meter data collection, conservation programs, and AMI/billing systems preferred; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Required Licenses/Certifications
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience managing water consumption and billing systems, and the ability to identify anomalies, trends, and opportunities for efficiency. They will demonstrate effective communication skills, collaborate well with internal and external stakeholders, oversee technical field operations, maintain accurate records, and navigate both office and field environments. They will also be adept at coordinating emergency response activities and representing the Division in public outreach efforts.
Pay and Benefits
